GREAT RED BANK ‘LATKE’ FESTIVAL HELD – Congregation Beth Shalom held its second annual Great Red Bank “Latke” Festival on Dec. 12, 2009 in celebration of Hanukkah. “Latkes,” Yiddish for potato pancakes, is a traditional Hanukah dish. The event featured a dreidle (spinning top) tournament, a latke-eating contest, a community candle-lighting ceremony (shown here), singing, dinner and games.
