Rabbi Dovid Harrison was raised in Miami Beach, Fla. At 14 he went to France to study in a Yeshiva in the Parisian suburbs and started fulfilling his life-long goal of becoming a Rabbi. Dovid studied in various Yeshivas over the next five years in Miami Beach, Fla.; Tzfat, Israel; Morristown, N.J. and Brooklyn, N.Y.

While pursuing his Rabbinical studies, Dovid made multiple trips to Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine and Russia where he directed and conducted summer camps for unprivileged Jewish children. In 2000, Dovid was appointed to coordinate and oversee six groups of student-Rabbis who conducted Passover Seders and holiday gatherings in small Jewish communities throughout Latvia and Estonia. Later that year, Dovid was instrumental in founding a permanent Jewish center in Tallinn. During this time, he actively reached out to unaffiliated Jews in Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, as well as in prisons.

Dovid received his Rabbinical Ordination in early 2001 from the Rabbinical College of America. Dovid then turned his focus to fulfilling his other life-long dream of becoming an attorney, graduating from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of law in 2004, Dovid works as an attorney in a small law firm in Manhattan.

Dovid has remained passionate about the Rabbinate. From hosting Shabbat dinners for non-religious law students to lecturing on Jewish topics to leading high-holiday prayers, Dovid remained heavily involved in his Rabbinical work. Dovid was the weekend-Rabbi of an assisted-living facility in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn and the founding Rabbi of what is now a flourishing Jewish community in the South Shore of Staten Island. In July, 2010, Dovid was hired as the Rabbi at Congregation Beth Shalom of Red Bank. He and his family are in the process of moving to Red Bank.

Dovid loves Jewish philosophy, the outdoors – especially skiing and boating, and sports. Dovid is married to Hindy Gray, a teacher for special needs children. They have three children, Sara, Moshe, and Rosie.
